Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Golang Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend microservices and APIs. The role demands active collaboration with senior engineers to build robust, scalable, and secure services. You will be responsible for supporting existing platforms through debugging, maintenance, and optimizing performance. Integration of backend services with various databases, messaging platforms, and internal systems is a key aspect of the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain backend microservices and APIs utilizing Golang.
- Partner with senior engineering staff to architect scalable and secure service components.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications by performing debugging and improving performance.
- Develop and connect backend services with databases (relational and NoSQL), messaging systems, and internal tools.
- Engage actively in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and code evaluations.
- Support and contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using Buildkite automation tools.
- Collaborate extensively across engineering, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Create and update clear, succinct technical documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4 to 6 years of practical experience developing applications using Golang.
- Strong comprehension of microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
- Experience working with messaging brokers and event-driven platforms like Kafka, EventBridge, SQS, or SNS.
- Solid knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Hands-on experience in building CI/CD pipelines, especially using Buildkite.
- Understanding of security protocols involving authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2 and JWT.
Preferred Skills
- Background in financial services, fintech, or other regulated sectors.
- Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
- Knowledge about serverless architecture components and event-driven designs on AWS.

Education
