Database Developer

About the Role

This position focuses on creating and supporting robust relational databases for enterprise software. The successful candidate will develop scalable database solutions that deliver strong performance, dependable uptime, data accuracy, and secure access.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and support relational database schemas and related database objects.
• Write and maintain advanced PL/SQL components such as stored procedures, triggers, functions, and packages.
• Improve database speed and efficiency through indexing, query refinement, and performance tuning.
• Build ETL workflows to support data movement, integration, and migration efforts.
• Protect database integrity, enforce security practices, and manage access permissions.
• Diagnose and fix database performance issues and application-related data problems.
• Work closely with application teams to support enterprise systems and ongoing development needs.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline is required.
• 3 to 8 years of practical experience in database development.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL programming.
• Proven ability to design relational database structures.
• Experience with indexing, query tuning, and broader database performance optimization.
• Background in building ETL pipelines.
• Working knowledge of database security, data integrity, and access control practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud-based database platforms.
• Experience with data warehousing work and database migration initiatives.
• Familiarity with version control systems and database deployment tooling.
