This position requires a blend of strategic foresight, in-depth market and customer understanding, and hands-on execution, with complete accountability for category growth outcomes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and Operations to enhance platform liquidity, engagement, and monetization.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement the strategic vision and growth roadmap for your designated category.
- Become an authority on the category's supply dynamics, consumer demand, community engagement channels, and competitive landscape.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and set quarterly objectives to monitor and advance category performance.

- Lead outreach, onboarding, and enablement initiatives for high-potential sellers.
- Foster enduring relationships with key sellers and influential community figures.
- Partner with Account and Partnerships Managers to expand seller engagement and support.
- Collaborate with Category Marketing Managers to design and execute impactful product launches, campaigns, and promotional events.
- Advocate for category-specific needs and insights to Product and Engineering teams to enhance seller tools, platform features, and overall performance.
- Leverage data analytics to identify growth opportunities, pinpoint operational bottlenecks, and refine go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor trends in supply, engagement, retention, and revenue, adapting strategies dynamically.
- Present actionable insights to Growth leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as the platform's primary representative within the category's ecosystem.
- Engage deeply with community norms, language, and cultural trends to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Champion the needs of creators and sellers internally to ensure authentic, category-driven growth.
About You
- Possess 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, category management, or marketplace growth, preferably within consumer platforms or two-sided marketplaces.
- Demonstrate strong strategic thinking capabilities coupled with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach, comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapid change.
- Exhibit excellent relationship-building skills, capable of quickly establishing trust with sellers, creators, and internal teams.
- Be data-fluent, making informed decisions based on metrics and performance indicators.
- Possess a community-centric mindset, understanding cultural nuances, subcultures, and trends that drive engagement.
Nice to Have
- Existing network within the assigned category (e.g., sneaker resellers, influencer communities, boutique shops).
- Experience with both the supply and demand sides of a marketplace.
- Familiarity with creator monetization platforms, community-driven commerce, or enthusiast ecosystems.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, sales pipeline management, analytics dashboards, and seller performance metrics.
