인턴십 소개
About the internship
This internship is centered on mechanical design and hands-on product integration for an autonomous battery-swapping solution for electric four-wheelers in India. The company’s flagship swappable battery module is developed in-house with a strong focus on design for disassembly.
What you will work on
- Support the design of mechanical components and systems with attention to performance, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Create precise 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Apply design-for-machining, design-for-analysis, and design-for-manufacture practices to build practical, robust solutions.
- Work with the team to improve concepts based on feedback, testing, and iteration.
- Assist in prototype development and ensure the product meets both functional and visual expectations.
- Run mechanical checks such as stress, thermal, and vibration analysis to confirm design reliability.
- Help integrate mechanical assemblies with electrical and embedded systems.
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models, including views, sections, and dimensions.
- Apply tolerancing and GD&T so vendor-made parts fit correctly within the vehicle frame.
- Update and maintain CAD models to resolve interferences and simplify assembly.
- Keep the bill of materials current so parts and hardware are properly tracked and ordered.
- Carry out trial fits on the vehicle to verify clearances, alignment, and installation ease.
- Identify physical clashes, rubbing points, vibration issues, and access constraints between components.
- Select appropriate fasteners, adhesives, and tools for each mounting situation.
- Measure built parts and assemblies with calipers, micrometers, or tapes to compare the actual vehicle with the CAD design.
- Coordinate with fabrication vendors to clarify drawing expectations and manufacturing queries.
Who can apply
This opportunity is open to candidates who can work full-time from the office, can begin between 9 Jul 2026 and 13 Aug 2026, are available for 6 months, and have relevant skills and interest. Mechanical engineering students are eligible, and candidates pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field are preferred.
Additional requirements
- Comfort with CAD tools, especially SolidWorks and AutoCAD, for 3D modelling, assemblies, and technical drafting.
- Understanding of CNC machining and design-for-machining principles.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal design, including bending, cutting, and manufacturability.
- Exposure to polymer 3D printing methods such as FDM and SLA for prototyping.
- Working knowledge of GD&T for clear engineering communication.
- Exposure to FEA tools such as ANSYS or Altair is an advantage, but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail, disciplined documentation habits, and enthusiasm for hands-on prototyping.
Compensation and duration
The internship offers a monthly stipend of INR 8,000 to 12,000. The duration is 6 months, and the role starts immediately.
Perks
- Certificate
- Letter of recommendation
- Flexible work hours
