Job description
Position Overview
The Store Driver is an entry-level role focused on supporting the delivery of automotive parts to commercial customers, while assisting with store inventory and operational tasks. This position requires fleet safety certification and involves a combination of driving, customer interaction, and store support.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of parts to commercial clients as required.
- Pick and stage customer orders accurately within the store.
- Collect product returns and core components from customers.
- Distribute weekly or monthly sales flyers to customers.
- Handle daily collection duties for credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, restrooms, display facing, dusting, and parking lot upkeep.
- Assist with stocking tasks such as truck and back stock replenishment.
Success Factors and Skills
- Basic competency in driving and navigation.
- Familiarity with delivery board systems.
- Ability to engage in friendly and effective communication with customers and team members.
- Skill in locating and stocking parts properly.
- Adherence to safety protocols and knowledge of safe operating procedures.

Essential Abilities
- Effective communication and relationship building with customers, peers, and management.
- Capability to understand and interpret documents including safety guidelines, operational manuals, parts catalogs, and company procedures.
- Basic math proficiency involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with various units and decimals.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including days, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
Preferred Experience
Experience with automotive parts is an advantage but not mandatory.
Certifications and Licensing
Must possess a valid driver's license and fleet safety certification to qualify for this position.
Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent walking or standing, effective communication abilities, and the use of hands and arms for handling parts and equipment. The employee will need to lift/move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Visual acuity including close and distance vision, color differentiation, depth perception, and focus adjustment are necessary.
Work Environment
The majority of work is conducted indoors; however, occasional outdoor work exposes employees to varying weather conditions. The role may include exposure to moving machinery parts, elevated locations, hazardous chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibrations. Noise levels are generally moderate.
Compensation
The typical hourly pay range for new team members is between 17.60 CAD and 18.85 CAD, with the exact wage influenced by location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership experience, additional skills, and applicable shift differentials.
