Line Warehouse Controller

About the Role

The Line Warehouse Controller will oversee the movement and management of aviation spare parts between various bases and stations, ensuring efficient stock control and compliance with operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage spares transfers between the designated base and other stations.
• Promptly input all inventory data into the ERP system to ensure accurate stock records at all times.
• Adhere to Work Instructions by sorting parts into assigned locations immediately upon arrival.
• Perform weekly cycle counts and unscheduled checks to verify stock accuracy.
• Maintain detailed records and file necessary documentation relating to spares movement.
• Prepare shipping documents (COMAT) and package spares according to standard practices or Work Instructions.
• Oversee tools and equipment inventory within the station.
• Manage shelf-life controlled items such as tools, consumables, and rotables in line with prescribed procedures.
• Load requisitioned spares into the system and update ERP upon receipt to enhance stock visibility.
• Ensure daily housekeeping of the warehouse to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Direct unserviceable spares to Johannesburg promptly to reduce turnaround and repair times.
• Control stock levels for consumables and rotables effectively.
• Respond promptly to spares requests via requisition system, email, phone, or WhatsApp.
• Carry out general warehouse tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Strictly control access to warehouse areas.
• Provide daily shift reports and ad-hoc updates as required.
• Assist in loading and offloading spares on aircraft.
• Handle enquiries about station spares.
• Monitor and follow up on quarantine spares.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• Possession of a forklift license is advantageous.
• Holding a C1/B vehicle license is essential.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of warehouse experience required.
• Valid EB driver's license is preferred.
• Willingness to work shifts is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of stock control and FIFO principles.
• Competence in tool recognition and operational procedures.
• Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Familiarity with Dangerous Goods regulations and relevant Approved Maintenance Organisation standards.
• Ready to travel with a valid passport and own transportation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
