This role supports the resort’s luxury standards by making sure guest laundry, uniforms, linens, and Food & Beverage textiles are processed accurately, on time, and to the required presentation level. The manager will oversee vendor performance, quality assurance, inventory control, staffing, training, cost tracking, and guest satisfaction with a disciplined and detail-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily laundry workflow, including outsourced laundry handling, linen movement, guest laundry, uniforms, and Food & Beverage items.
- Supervise external laundry partners to ensure service quality, turnaround time, cost efficiency, and compliance with resort expectations.
- Plan and manage daily collection and delivery schedules for linens, uniforms, guest laundry, and associated items.
- Track all outgoing and incoming laundry, uniform, and linen transactions with accuracy.
- Inspect laundry output regularly for cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, stain removal, fabric care, and finishing quality.
- Carry out routine quality assessments and vendor reviews to confirm adherence to hygiene, safety, and service requirements.
- Keep coordination smooth between vendors and internal departments so that linen and uniform supply remains uninterrupted.
- Control laundry supplies, uniforms, tools, and operational resources according to department requirements.
- Monitor expenses for the department, including supplies, uniforms, and outsourced laundry services, against budget targets.
- Check invoices, contracts, and service agreements for correctness and transparency.
- Partner with Engineering on maintenance requirements for any in-house laundry or guest laundry equipment.
- Create backup plans for vendor delays, equipment breakdowns, quality issues, or linen shortages.
- Assess and suggest improvements in vendors, supplies, equipment, and operating procedures.
- Supervise, train, and support laundry associates and uniform attendants to maintain productivity, service quality, and consistency.
- Build schedules based on occupancy, operational needs, and productivity goals.
- Identify training gaps and coach team members on safety, quality, service standards, and operational processes.
- Respond promptly to guest laundry issues and ensure proper follow-through until resolution.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, and outside vendors to support seamless resort operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, local legal requirements, and resort policies in all laundry activities.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should bring 4 to 6 years of experience in laundry or housekeeping operations within a luxury hotel or resort setting. Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial laundry role is an advantage, as is exposure to managing outsourced laundry vendors in luxury hospitality.
Strong working knowledge is required in laundry operations, linen control, uniform management, guest laundry handling, vendor coordination, fabric care, stain treatment, laundry chemicals, hygiene practices, and safety procedures. Experience in budgeting, cost management, payroll review, inventory handling, invoice checking, and financial reporting is also important.
The role calls for solid leadership, coaching, team-building, organization, problem-solving, and planning skills. Strong communication skills are needed to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Familiarity with Rosewood, Forbes, LQA, or similar luxury hospitality standards is preferred.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and hotel management systems, is preferred. The candidate should be able to prepare schedules, inventories, reports, and operational records with accuracy. Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varied hours according to operational needs is required.
