Interior Designer

Overview

Mahadhyuta Engineering Private Limited is seeking a skilled Interior Designer to join their Design & Projects department in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The role involves managing residential interior projects from conception through to site coordination, ensuring designs are not only creative but feasible for execution on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand their lifestyle, needs, budget, and aesthetic preferences.
• Create space plans, furniture layouts, concept designs, mood boards, and design presentations.
• Develop detailed 2D plans and 3D visualizations and modify designs based on client feedback.
• Produce comprehensive technical drawings covering furniture, civil works, electrical, lighting, plumbing, false ceilings, flooring, tile layouts, wall elevations, kitchen and wardrobe specifics, and construction sections.
• Select appropriate materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, sanitary fittings, and furnishings, ensuring quality and budget compliance.
• Assist with project BOQs and cost estimates, collaborating with estimation and procurement teams and careful cost management to prevent design-related cost overruns.
• Regularly visit sites to oversee execution compatibility with drawings, guide field staff and vendors, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure quality standards and timelines are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all design drawings, revisions, material selections, and client approvals to ensure smooth project progression.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and rendering tools like V-Ray or Enscape.
• Familiarity with Photoshop or Canva is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, modular and custom furniture.
• Knowledgeable about electrical, plumbing, civil, ceiling, and carpentry coordination.
• Ability to create precise detailed working drawings and interpret site measurements correctly.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Preferred experience of 2 to 5 years focusing on residential interior projects.
