Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated BTEC Business Teacher to join our academic team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, maintaining academic records, supporting student growth, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design lesson plans ahead of schedule and communicate them to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator via email.
- Prepare and arrange all required materials for class sessions.
- Achieve the outlined objectives provided in the annual general curriculum plans.
- Keep the grade book current by entering grades promptly at the end of evaluation periods and semesters.
- Create and administer monthly assessments corresponding to each topic.
- Evaluate and grade all assigned coursework accurately.
- Decorate the classroom with relevant educational and seasonal materials.
- Supervise playground activities as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Psychology Department to assist students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Coordinate with the Academic Coordinator and psychologist to support students with special educational needs, including gifted learners.
- Participate in meetings with peers, academic coordinators, and school leadership.
- Attend institutional training workshops and partake in parent meetings as well as special school events.
- Comply with the scheduled working hours, noting that departure times vary by grade level.
- Mediating student disputes and reporting emotional, personal, or family issues to the psychologist.
- Partner with the psychologist to organize community service and fundraising initiatives.
- Assist with or organize student involvement in fairs and other school activities.
- Engage parents or guardians by inviting them to meetings or special events as needed.
- Record student attendance daily using the institutional system or submit forms to Academic Support.
- Collect and organize subject-specific assignments for students' portfolios each evaluation period based on level criteria.
- Designate a student to manage homework records and monitor the Homework Board biweekly.
- Encourage student participation in subcommittees to enhance teamwork and school engagement.
- Promote transparent communication with students and their families.
- Motivate parents or guardians to attend meetings hosted by the school and parent organizations.
- Consider and refer students' unique learning and socio-emotional requirements to the Psychology Department.
- Adhere to school uniform policies and institutional guidelines.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
- A Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in education is essential.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency with digital educational tools and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, rated at an advanced level.
- Leadership capabilities and analytical skills assessed at intermediate to advanced levels.
- Capability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Strategic thinking and effective problem-solving.
