Overview

The Barista role at Rosewood Red Sea is integral to delivering superior coffee and beverage experiences aligned with the brand's ultra-luxury standards. The position demands expert knowledge, skillful preparation, and passionate presentation of specialty coffees, teas, and other drinks while maintaining operational excellence and an inviting cafe atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and present premium coffee, tea, and specialty beverages consistently, adhering to Rosewood, Forbes, and LQA quality benchmarks.
• Operate espresso machines and brewing equipment safely and proficiently to ensure beverage excellence.
• Deliver custom, warm guest interactions by understanding preferences and accommodating dietary and allergy needs.
• Maintain daily mise en place and ensure beverage stations are clean, organized, and stocked.
• Support innovative beverage offerings by suggesting new drink ideas and seasonal specials to management.
• Contribute to special events and VIP service with bespoke beverage preparation.
• Manage beverage inventory carefully including monitoring ingredient freshness and applying FIFO stock rotation.
• Participate actively in inventory control and communicate shortages or equipment issues promptly.
• Promote premium products through confident upselling techniques to optimize revenue.
• Lead and mentor new baristas, sharing coffee craftsmanship knowledge and fostering teamwork.
• Maintain professionalism in grooming, communication, and operational conduct consistently.
• Comply fully with all company policies, safety, hygiene, HACCP standards, and confidentiality requirements.
• Adapt flexibly to changing schedules and operational demands supporting additional tasks and projects as necessary.

Skills and Knowledge

• In-depth understanding of coffee varieties, brewing techniques, and beverage presentation.
• Proficient in operating and maintaining coffee-related equipment including espresso machines and grinders.
• Strong guest service orientation ensuring personalized and attentive experiences.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and health and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-pressure service environments.
• Ability to monitor and control stock, minimize waste, and contribute to financial targets.
