About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Zoho Books Expert to oversee, configure, and enhance our Zoho Books accounting system ensuring smooth business operations. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth understanding of accounting principles, GST regulations, inventory management, sales, purchases, banking, reconciliation, and thorough reporting within Zoho Books.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for day-to-day accounting transactions using Zoho Books.
• Set up and manage charts of accounts, including items, customers, vendors, tax details, various branches, warehouses, and user accounts.
• Process sales invoices, purchase bills, credit/debit notes, payments, receipts, and journal entries accurately.
• Configure GST settings, tax rates, HSN/SAC codes, and prepare GST-compliant reports.
• Administer inventory accounting including stock transfers, returns (purchase and sales), and necessary adjustments.
• Perform bank statement reconciliations, manage payment gateway accounts, cash accounts, and reconcile vendor and customer ledgers.
• Produce financial and management information system (MIS) reports such as Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, receivables, payables, and inventory reports.
• Assist with monthly closing processes, expense tracking, and audit preparations.
• Detect and correct discrepancies or errors in Zoho Books data and workflows.
• Liaise with internal teams for approvals related to purchases, sales, inventory, store accounting, and expenses.
• Conduct training sessions for team members to ensure adherence to Zoho Books usage standards and standard operating procedures.
• Recommend and implement automation and enhanced processes within Zoho Books to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with Zoho support staff or external implementation partners when necessary.

Required Skills

• Proven practical experience with Zoho Books platform.
• Solid grasp of accounting standards and bookkeeping practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GST, TDS, invoicing, e-way bills, and financial documentations like credit and debit notes.
• Expertise in bank and ledger reconciliation methods.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting processes preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and rectify accounting errors independently.
• Proficient in spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with accounts, operations, and management departments.

Preferred Experience

• Between 2 and 5 years of experience in accounting or Zoho Books implementation roles.
• Familiarity with retail, FMCG, grocery, food processing, or businesses with complex inventory management is advantageous.
• Experience handling accounting for multi-location businesses considered a valuable asset.
• Knowledge of additional Zoho suite products like Zoho Inventory, Zoho Expense, or Zoho Payroll is a plus.

Qualification

Applicants should have completed B.Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, CA Inter, or hold equivalent credentials in accounting. Practical experience using Zoho Books is prioritized over educational qualifications.
