Youth Support Practitioner

Role Overview

Senploy, in partnership with Thrive Education Group, is seeking Youth Support Practitioners to join schools in Sefton, Canterbury, New Zealand. The role involves supporting young students who face challenges related to behavior, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and engagement with their education.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with young people to foster trust and support.
• Deliver individual and small group assistance tailored to student needs.
• Assist pupils in re-engaging with classroom lessons and educational activities.
• Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviors among students.
• Guide youth through difficult situations and transitions effectively.
• Encourage the development of confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Provide specialized support for students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues), or other additional requirements.
• Help enforce appropriate boundaries and behavioral expectations.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, and SEND professionals to implement individualized support strategies.

School-based experience is not mandatory but experience supporting children and teenagers in other settings is essential. Candidates must hold or be willing to acquire an Enhanced DBS certificate via the Update Service.
