Role Summary

The position of Workshop Foreman is a permanent, on-site role based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily workshop functions, including planning work schedules, delegating tasks, and supervising the vehicle service department operations. The role demands a blend of technical proficiency, leadership qualities, and dedication to superior customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate maintenance and repair tasks within the workshop, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
• Oversee productivity and optimize resource allocation while maintaining workflow efficiency.
• Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to the team, solving complex mechanical challenges.
• Verify that all jobs are completed accurately and within designated timeframes.
• Liaise with management and other departments to streamline communication and operations.
• Maintain comprehensive workshop documentation and records.
• Contribute actively to process improvements and enhancing customer service standards.

Qualification and Experience

• Possession of a trade certificate or diploma in Automotive Mechanics or an equivalent qualification.
• At least four years of Class 1 experience working with light duty vehicles from recognized brands.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair practices, and workshop tooling.
• Capability to operate independently off-site and effectively lead a team while managing workflow.
• Strong adherence to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and operational standards.
• Demonstrable experience implementing safety standards and ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations.
• Familiarity with parts utilization, inventory management, and coordination with stores or procurement units is advantageous.
