Workshop Assistant

Overview

This permanent position based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk supports the workshop team in tasks related to the upkeep, repair, and testing of containerised offshore systems and additional equipment. The role is hands-on, contributing to various workshop operations including cleanliness, waste management, equipment preparation, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to company HSQE policies and procedural guidelines.
• Assist in equipment loadouts ensuring accuracy against picking lists.
• Support the paint team in maintaining equipment fabric condition.
• Keep workshop and yard areas orderly while following waste management protocols.
• Aid the Workshop Manager in planning and maintaining the layout and structure of the base.
• Perform pressure washing on equipment and buildings as needed.
• Operate safely and in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintain professionalism and courteous interaction with customers and colleagues.

Candidate Attributes and Skills

• Strong problem-solving capability with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness paired with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous workshop or similar practical experience is preferred.
• Holding a relevant trade certification or completed apprenticeship in a related discipline is beneficial.
• Applicants must reside within reasonable proximity to Great Yarmouth to be eligible for this onsite role.
