Workday Payroll Functional Consultant

Role Overview

The Workday Payroll Functional Consultant for the US and Canada region is responsible for designing, configuring, and enhancing the Workday Payroll system within the Human Capital Management framework of an organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure system elements like pay components, earnings, deductions, gross-to-net calculations, and retroactive pay policies.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and payroll teams to accurately convert business policies into system operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and labor laws within the system configuration.
• Conduct comprehensive testing phases including unit, parallel, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Work closely with technical teams to integrate payroll operations with time-tracking, benefits management, and financial general ledger systems.
• Provide ongoing support by troubleshooting calculation issues, addressing support queries, and managing semi-annual updates of Workday features.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong understanding of Workday Payroll configuration and processes.
• Ability to gather and translate complex payroll-related business requirements into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance regulations applicable across federal, state, and local levels in the US and Canada.
• Experience performing various stages of payroll testing to ensure system accuracy.
• Competence in coordinating system integrations across multiple business functions.
• Capability to maintain and optimize payroll system performance over time.

Additional Information

This position requires interaction with multiple stakeholders across HR, finance, and IT departments to ensure smooth payroll management. Candidates must be capable of handling support and optimization activities post-implementation.
