Overview

QIX Consulting is seeking an experienced Wine Sales Representative to oversee and expand a diverse sales territory within Sydney's hospitality and independent retail sectors. This role offers significant independence to manage your own territory and reap direct rewards for your sales achievements.

Territory Coverage

The position covers various Sydney areas including North Sydney & Northern Beaches, Parramatta & Western Suburbs, Sutherland Shire & Southern Suburbs, parts of Sydney CBD, and Eastern Suburbs. This territory combines existing and potential clients, presenting ample opportunities to enhance business and establish new accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand relationships with current customers.
  • Identify and develop new hospitality and independent retail accounts.
  • Build and nurture strong connections with key decision-makers in the industry.
  • Present and promote a high-quality wine portfolio.
  • Conduct wine tastings, product presentations, and assist with staff training.
  • Discover chances to grow product range, sales volume, and customer spending.
  • Meet sales, margin, and growth targets as agreed.
  • Plan and execute an effective customer call schedule.
  • Participate in selected wine dinners, tastings, and trade events.
  • Keep accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in wine sales or related beverage industries.
  • Strong knowledge of wine and genuine passion for the sector.
  • Proven track record in managing and expanding sales territories.
  • Successful experience in new business development.
  • Established relationships within Sydney's hospitality or independent retail markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Good commercial acumen in pricing strategies and margin management.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and take ownership of results.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Formal wine qualifications such as WSET are advantageous but not mandatory if strong practical knowledge and experience are demonstrated.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a base salary ranging from $80,000 to $95,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus superannuation, a lucrative commission plan, and a generous car allowance. Additional provisions include a company laptop and mobile phone.

The commission structure provides substantial earning possibilities as you cultivate new accounts and strengthen existing ones, directly impacting your total income.
