Overview
This position involves overseeing the daily operations of a wholesale store located in Hubli, Karnataka, India. The Wholesale Store Manager will handle customer interactions, wholesale sales, stock control, order management, billing coordination, dispatch, collections, and record maintenance. The role focuses on running the store efficiently to ensure customers receive timely orders, accurate stock management, and achievement of sales targets.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage wholesale sales by servicing walk-in and recurring wholesale customers, acquiring new customers and distributors, understanding client needs to recommend products, preparing quotations, negotiating prices within company standards, and meeting sales targets.
- Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with various buyers including retailers, distributors, restaurants, and institutional clients.
- Provide professional customer service, handle inquiries and feedback, coordinate with production and accounts to resolve issues, and maintain accurate payment and credit records.
- Maintain precise physical and inventory system stock records, monitor stock levels of all SKU varieties, conduct regular stock audits, report discrepancies immediately, and ensure replenishment of fast-moving products following FIFO principles where applicable.
- Process customer orders through multiple channels, verify order details including SKU, quantity, price, and delivery, coordinate fulfillment with warehouse and production teams, and track order status to avoid delays.
- Plan and coordinate daily dispatch activities ensuring correct packing, quantity verification, liaison with transporters, proper documentation, and timely customer notifications.
- Collaborate with accounting to generate accurate invoices matching dispatched goods, monitor payments and outstanding balances, enforce credit policies, and report collections and outstanding payment status regularly to management.
- Maintain the store’s cleanliness, organization, product labeling, display, and safety, ensure minimal product handling damage, supervise loading/unloading, and enforce staff discipline.
Daily Duties
- Review opening stock and pending customer orders.
- Check daily dispatches and warehouse receipts.
- Respond to customer inquiries and generate/follow up sales leads.
- Coordinate billing and dispatch activities and monitor pending payments.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and update records.
- Prepare and submit end-of-day management reports covering stock, sales, orders, collections, and customer issues.
Performance Indicators
Monthly evaluations will include targets related to sales growth, customer acquisition and retention, stock accuracy and management, order and dispatch accuracy, collection efficiency, complaint resolution, and customer satisfaction.
Decision-Making Authority
The manager may handle routine customer negotiations and stock allocation, prioritize dispatches, pursue payments, and resolve common customer complaints but must seek approval from management for major discounts, new credit extensions, policy exceptions, substantial claims, large price changes, and write-offs.
Required Expertise
- Proven experience in wholesale/B2B sales and stock management.
- Proficiency with customer handling, billing, invoicing, and basic accounting.
- Familiarity with tools like Excel or Google Sheets and WhatsApp Business.
- Strong negotiation, team leadership, and communication skills.
- Exposure to FMCG, packaging, plastic products, food-service, restaurant supplies, distribution, wholesale trading, or manufacturing sales is advantageous.
Experience and Education
Preferred candidates have 3 to 7 years in wholesale sales, distribution, store management, or related B2B operations. Minimum educational qualification is completion of 12th grade, with preference for graduates or those with diplomas/degrees in business, commerce, sales or operations. Practical business management ability is emphasized over formal qualifications.

Compensation Structure
Suggested salary for similar roles is in the range of ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 per month with additional performance incentives including monthly sales, new customer acquisition, collection efficiency, and quarterly bonuses linked to profitable sales and collections rather than just sales volume.
Reporting Hierarchy
Reporting to the Management or Business Head, the Wholesale Store Manager supervises sales, store, billing, and dispatch staff and coordinates with warehouse and logistics teams, serving as the primary accountability point for daily store operations.
Minimum education
Higher Secondary (Class 12)
