About the Role
Addiction Pet Foods is seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join their production team at the manufacturing site in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. This full-time, onsite position involves hands-on responsibilities in welding, fabrication, equipment repair, and general maintenance within a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding, fitting, fabrication, and repair tasks on various components.
- Create and modify frames, guards, brackets, platforms, pipework, and other metal parts.
- Maintain and repair production equipment and plant infrastructure to ensure operational reliability.
- Support equipment installation, modifications, and improvement initiatives.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and execute practical repairs efficiently.
- Engage in cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and assembly activities as required.
- Collaborate closely with the Maintenance and Engineering teams to meet production needs.
- Adhere to food manufacturing industry standards, including health and safety and hygiene protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience as a Welder, Fitter, Fabricator, or a similar trade role with hands-on expertise.
- Proficient in welding and metal fabrication techniques, preferably including stainless steel.
- Strong mechanical fitting skills and capability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, take precise measurements, and fabricate components accurately.
- Preferably experienced with manufacturing or industrial plant equipment.
- Capability to work independently with a strong safety focus.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Must possess legal authorization to work in New Zealand.
