Compensation: Pay range from $14.50 to $17.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Support welders and fabricators by preparing materials for welding tasks
• Eliminate mill scale, paint, rust, and residue to ensure clean surfaces for welding
• Perform preparation duties including grinding, deburring, and cutting of metal parts
• Conduct self-inspection of products before and after prep to meet quality standards
• Use hoists or manual methods to move and position materials for welding operations
• Secure and hold parts during welding and fabrication processes
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and tools following company safety procedures
• Assist with maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and machine tools
• Complete other tasks as delegated by the Welder and Fabricator III

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand work instructions
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Ability to perform measurements using standard and metric units, including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
• Basic computer literacy
• Demonstrated dedication to high-quality work
• Self-driven and cooperative team member
• Physically capable of working in South Alabama climates and handling various physical tasks such as standing long hours, crawling, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
• Successful completion of background check and drug screening
