About the Role

We seek a dedicated Weichenwärter:in (mechanical switch operator) to join DB InfraGO AG at locations including Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and timely conducting shunting operations on the mechanical signal boxes at yard locations such as Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz.
  • Setting all route components for a train’s journey, including points, routes, and signals, ensuring safe departures.
  • Coordinating closely with colleagues at adjacent signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.
  • Issuing, receiving, and communicating operational orders and schedule information.
  • Monitoring and inspecting track sections and implementing track closures during disruptions.

Candidate Profile

  • Possesses expertise as a Weichenwärter:in with solid knowledge or a willingness to learn mechanical interlocking technology.
  • Exhibits high responsibility, reliability, and competent, confident action even under stress, along with punctuality.
  • Meets the operational fitness requirements to perform as a Weichenwärter:in.
  • Prepared to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
