Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Web Support & Maintenance Officer to ensure the seamless operation of both company and client websites. This full-time, on-site position is located in Abuja. The responsibilities include regular monitoring of websites for downtime or performance concerns, conducting routine maintenance, managing updates to plugins, themes, and content, and performing systematic backups. You will also assist in resolving issues related to hosting, domains, and configurations and collaborate closely with the team to maintain site security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor websites to detect downtime or performance problems promptly.
- Perform scheduled maintenance activities, including updating plugins, themes, and content management systems.
- Manage regular website backups to prevent data loss.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving hosting environments, domain configurations, and website settings.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold website security standards and operational dependability.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Experience working with WordPress or comparable content management systems is essential.
- Familiarity with hosting control panels and backup management tools.
- Knowledge of best practices concerning website security and optimizing performance.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously, handle multiple priorities, and organize tasks according to urgency.
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with a problem-solving approach.
- Possession of IT or web technology certifications is advantageous; previous experience in web support roles is a plus.
