Job description
Overview
We seek a vigilant and accountable Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse functions such as inbound and outbound stock handling, inventory updates (both manual and digital), order fulfillment, and dispatch processes. The position demands adherence to company SOPs and safety protocols consistent with Indian regulatory and industry standards.
Primary Duties
- Manage material and finished goods movement into and out of the warehouse.
- Receive shipments and confirm quantity, quality, and documentation against orders and invoices.
- Ensure appropriate storage methods, proper labeling, and identification of stock.
- Maintain precise inventory records utilizing Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel.
- Perform daily stock verification, cycle counts, and scheduled physical inventory audits.
- Detect and resolve discrepancies such as shortages, excesses, damages, or missing items.
- Execute picking, packing, scanning, and dispatch operations with accuracy.
- Generate necessary dispatch documentation including delivery challans, invoices, and manifests.
- Collaborate with Purchase, Sales, Production, Transport, and Accounts departments to facilitate seamless warehouse activities.
- Track pending orders to guarantee punctual dispatch.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and apply 5S organizational principles.
- Comply with all safety protocols and company standard operating procedures.
- Assist with audits and prepare related management reports.
- Manage damaged, rejected, returned, or scrap inventory with proper documentation.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and assist in continuous improvement efforts.
- Oversee and coordinate warehouse helpers and equipment operators as necessary.
- Handle attendance and vehicle management.
- Maintain purchase stock reports and inventory records.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid understanding of warehouse and inventory control methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tally Prime software.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Competence in report generation and documentation maintenance.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to manage time effectively.
- Capable of working efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and SOP adherence.
- Experience supervising teams is advantageous.
Performance Metrics
- Inventory accuracy levels.
- Correctness of inbound and outbound transactions.
- Order picking correctness.
- Percentage of dispatches made on schedule.
- Rates of stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Compliance with warehouse housekeeping and safety standards.
- Accuracy and timeliness of warehouse management information system (MIS) reports.
Experience and Environment
- Preferably 3 to 5 years in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory, or supply chain roles.
- Tally Prime experience is preferred.
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, or distribution sectors is beneficial.
- Physically able and comfortable working on warehouse floors handling materials.
- Commitment to follow safety procedures and operational workflows.
Working Hours
The office working schedule is from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
