Job description
About the Role
The Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth physical flow of spare parts within the European aftermarket supply chain. Located in Waldlaubersheim, Germany, this position involves managing the entire lifecycle of parts handling—from receiving inbound shipments to ensuring timely dispatch of orders. The role demands rigorous adherence to productivity and time-management standards compliant with European labor laws, while maintaining 100% inventory accuracy and giving priority to urgent 'Machine Down' orders for VIP clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound receiving activities by unpacking and verifying shipments from the Changsha headquarters and local suppliers, accurately checking quantities, and logging items into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) using RF scanners.
- Carry out efficient picking and packing processes, consistently meeting productivity goals of up to 60 lines per hour for small parts or 15 lines per hour for larger, heavier parts.
- Ensure secure packaging to prevent damage, properly label shipments, and oversee safe loading onto courier or freight vehicles for outbound dispatch.
- Rapidly process emergency orders prioritized by the Parts Order Specialist, supporting top key accounts by dispatching parts within critical service level agreements.
- Perform regular cycle counts and take part in annual comprehensive inventory audits to maintain near-perfect stock accuracy, promptly reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Operate warehouse material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely and effectively to move heavy machinery components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in strict accordance with European Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and uphold 5S workplace standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational background of a High School diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent qualification.
- At least 1 to 3 years of hands-on warehousing experience within fast-paced parts distribution centers, ideally related to automotive, construction machinery, or third-party logistics sectors.
- Mandatory possession of a valid forklift operator license (including counterbalance or reach truck certifications).
- Familiarity with warehouse systems such as RF scanners, barcode scanning, and WMS interfaces.
- Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks including lifting heavy items within ergonomically safe limits and maintaining mobility and endurance for extended periods.
- Demonstrated organization and efficiency to meet numeric productivity metrics consistently.
- Native or fluent knowledge of the local language (German) is required, with basic English skills considered a plus but not necessary.
- Strong personal attributes including punctuality, reliability, safety consciousness, and teamwork orientation.
