Job description
Role Overview
Volunteer Marlborough seeks compassionate people eager to join Ashwood Park residents on walks within the facility grounds, gardens, and occasionally local venues like Pollard Park. Volunteers may walk alongside individuals or small groups of seniors, adapting to their preferences, including pushing wheelchairs if needed.
Responsibilities
- Accompany Ashwood Park seniors on walks around the facility and gardens or nearby scenic spots.
- Support individuals or small groups during walks, including assisting those requiring wheelchair movement.
- Adapt to varying walk lengths, ranging from short garden circuits to longer blocks.
Requirements
- No special skills necessary beyond a warm, friendly demeanor.
- Volunteers must be able to walk independently with good balance.
- Applicants should be at least 16 years old.
- A Police background check is mandatory.
Additional Information
- Volunteers will receive a comprehensive induction before beginning.
- Volunteering time is flexible with no fixed scheduling; volunteers can select their frequency and duration.
