Job description
About the company
Flighthouse is a Gen Z-focused media company and creative agency that helps shape online culture as it happens. Its social footprint spans hundreds of millions of people across major platforms, and the team creates content designed specifically for the way each platform works and the culture around it.
The company works with major entertainment studios, streaming services, and consumer brands such as Paramount Pictures, Amazon MGM Studios, Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, and others. Its projects include original IP and branded campaigns built to cut through on social media by blending storytelling, creators, and internet trends.
At the heart of Flighthouse is a team that deeply understands how the internet moves, what people respond to, and how to turn ideas into content that genuinely connects with audiences.
Role summary
Flighthouse is hiring a Videographer & Editor to help produce social-first video content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. This role combines production and post-production for someone who is equally confident shooting footage and editing it into polished, high-performing content.
You will work on everything from studio shoots to on-location activations, capturing strong visuals in fast-moving settings and shaping them into engaging, platform-native videos. The role is best suited to someone who knows how to create for social media rather than traditional production, has a strong sense of timing and narrative flow, and enjoys working in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
This is an in-office position based in Los Angeles, and you may be required to work from the office as directed by your manager. Applicants must also share a portfolio or reel that demonstrates both shooting and editing ability, with social-first work preferred.
Responsibilities
- Film social-first video content in studio settings and on location, including interviews, creator-style pieces, behind-the-scenes coverage, branded content, and live events.
- Operate DSLR or mirrorless cameras to capture strong visuals; experience with iPhone filming is an added advantage.
- Handle basic lighting and audio setup in both controlled shoots and fast-moving run-and-gun situations.
- Edit short-form and mid-length videos tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube.
- Use platform-specific storytelling methods that improve hooks, pacing, and retention.
- Work closely with producers, creatives, and talent to bring ideas to life during shoots.
- Turn around quick edits based on performance data and creative feedback.
- Prepare versions, formats, and final deliveries for different platforms.
- Keep up with social trends, creator formats, and changing platform behaviors.
- Resolve production and editing issues quickly in fast-paced environments.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience in shooting and editing digital content, whether through professional work, freelance assignments, or similar experience.
- Strong command of DSLR and mirrorless camera systems for both studio and field production.
- Solid working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with After Effects is a plus.
- Clear understanding of social-first content and what drives performance across platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to edit with attention to pacing, rhythm, and audience retention.
- Experience in fast-paced production environments.
- Good communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently on set as well as collaborate effectively with a team.
- A portfolio or reel showing both filming and editing work, ideally with social-first examples.
- Preferred: experience filming and editing on iPhone or using mobile-first workflows.
- Preferred: familiarity with creator- or influencer-led content formats.
- Preferred: experience with multi-camera shoots or interview lighting.
- Preferred: basic graphic design or thumbnail skills using Photoshop.
- Preferred: awareness of platform analytics and performance metrics.
- Preferred: experience with entertainment or branded content.
Compensation
The hourly pay range for this role is $21.63 to $24.03. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the position.
Fair Chance Policy
In line with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance, qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered for employment. Candidates are reviewed based on their qualifications and the relevance of any offense to the responsibilities of the role.
Additional information
This is a hybrid production and post-production role, but the position is onsite in Los Angeles and requires working from the office as directed by management.
