Role Summary
We seek a Video Editor to handle NYC's extensive video creation tailored for social and digital outlets. The role involves transforming unedited footage into captivating, platform-suitable content, alongside experimenting with diverse editing techniques aligned with NYC's creative framework.
Key Duties
- Edit social media content including Reels, Shorts, clips, and content repurposing.
- Design captions, motion graphics, visual transitions, and other enhancements.
- Convert long-form videos into varied short-form versions.
- Innovate with editing styles, hooks, and pacing to boost audience engagement.
- Adhere to NYC's creative standards while contributing personal creative ideas.
- Collaborate with Senior Editors, Producers, and Content Teams to ensure quality and timely content delivery.
- Maintain organized project files and editing materials.
- Adjust content to fit distinct platforms and target audiences.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Between 1 to 3 years' experience in video editing or digital content production.
- Strong familiarity with short-form content and social media formats.
- Proficiency in captions, motion graphics, transitions, and editing pace.
- Ability to manage high-volume content workloads.
- Creative mindset eager to experiment, learn, and improve.
- Excellent attention to detail and deadline adherence.
- Understanding of storytelling techniques and audience engagement principles.
- Experience using professional video editing software.
- Background in EdTech, YouTube, digital media, or similar content-focused sectors is a plus.
