Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Video Editor to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is central to our post-production process, focusing on creating compelling video assets that resonate with target demographics and boost sales for ecommerce brands. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of creative flair, technical proficiency, and a solid understanding of ecommerce marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit raw footage into polished video content for platforms like Meta and TikTok, focusing on effective hooks, cohesive storytelling, and engaging visuals to maximize viewer retention and click-through rates.
  • Collaborate closely with creative strategists, directors, and other editors to align on creative visions and ensure final products meet or exceed client expectations, primarily through digital communication channels like Slack and weekly video calls.
  • Contribute creative ideas and suggestions during brainstorming and strategy sessions to enhance content quality, storytelling, and visual style.
  • Manage video editing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client brand guidelines by prioritizing tasks and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure all videos meet ACTIV's standards and are optimized for Meta and TikTok.
  • Stay current with the latest video editing software and technologies, recommending new tools or upgrades to maintain cutting-edge content production.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to manage projects across different time zones and adjust working hours as needed to meet critical deadlines and facilitate team collaboration.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of experience in video editing, specifically within the ecommerce marketing domain, supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • A firm grasp of key performance metrics including hook rate, hold rate, and click-through rate, with proven expertise in producing short-form direct response videos.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools like Higgsfield, Claude, and ChatGPT in the editing workflow.
  • A background in creative strategy is highly beneficial.
  • Previous agency experience is considered an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Ability to create original video content based on brand data, winning angles, and trending content is a significant plus and may qualify for bonuses.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, remote position offering flexible working hours to accommodate different time zones, with an expectation of reasonable overlap for meetings and collaborative sessions. We value independence, clear communication, and effective time management. Candidates will be expected to maintain open communication, deliver high-quality content on time, and proactively address any project challenges. ACTIV will provide necessary software access and resources for success. There is a bonus structure in place to reward high-quality content that scales ad spend effectively.
