About the Role and Practice

Acorn Vets, located in Cork, seeks a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join their team across Mallow and Kildorrery clinics. This permanent position offers a salary starting from €33,300 depending on experience. As an integral front-of-house member, you will support client relations, administrative tasks, and enhance the client and pet experience within a reputable veterinary practice known for community care and professional excellence.

Work Schedule

The role involves a 40-hour workweek over five days scheduled Monday through Saturday with shifts planned in advance. The position requires presence at both locations, dividing time as three days weekly in Kildorrery and two days in Mallow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist clients and their pets in a professional manner.
  • Manage appointment bookings, answer phone calls, and respond to service inquiries promptly.
  • Handle payment transactions and maintain an orderly reception area.
  • Develop knowledge of veterinary services and products to guide clients effectively.
  • Support the smooth running of the reception with administrative duties.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

Applicants should either hold or be willing to obtain the HPRA Responsible Person (RP) qualification, with full support provided for obtaining this certification if needed. Previous experience in reception or veterinary environments is beneficial but not essential. The ideal candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, have strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for excellent client service. A full valid Irish driver’s license is required due to travel between locations.
