Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Nurse to join the Noosa District Animal Hospital team. This position is ideal for someone who either already enjoys surgical nursing and anaesthesia or is eager to develop these skills with the support and mentorship provided.
Our practice emphasizes strong leadership, transparent communication, and a highly supported environment. Positioned between a traditional general practice and a referral hospital, our experienced veterinarians and in-house surgeon handle a high volume of surgical cases. Nurses here gain exposure to a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions, allowing full skill utilization. Our nurse-led team actively participates in all operational aspects, with clear role allocation to ensure organization and efficiency.
Work Environment
We prioritize sustainable work conditions, avoiding burnout or heroic efforts like unpaid overtime or extended working hours. You will find a well-staffed team committed to high standards, continuous learning, and finishing work on time.
Notably absent from our culture are chronic understaffing, coping mentality, cliques, favoritism, toxic atmosphere, unpaid overtime, and being undervalued as "just a nurse." Instead, we offer a permanent full-time position featuring predictable rosters, protected lunch breaks, and support from experienced veterinary professionals.
What to Expect
- Exposure to advanced surgical procedures and complex medical cases.
- Collaborative teamwork with attentive and accountable leaders.
- A clinical environment where quality medicine, operational efficiency, and kindness are equally prioritized.
Additional Information
Our practice has been cultivated over 17 years to promote a healthy and supportive workplace. Many experienced nurses face burnout in clinics that fail to deliver on promises of a supportive, family-like team. Here, we ensure that your work experience is fulfilling rather than exhausting.
Testimonial: "Dr Holly and Dr Ashley are incredible to work with. Their mentorship, compassion, and client care dedication create a positive environment. I have learned so much from their expertise and would have followed them without hesitation to Noosa if I lived closer." – Tegan, previous Cert 4/surgical nurse, May 2026.
