Joining our team means engaging with customers, communities, and colleagues to fuel your professional growth.

We promote a transparent and inclusive hiring process, guaranteeing equal opportunity and career mobility across every organizational level.

Role Overview

We seek an experienced VAT Manager to join our European Tax team based in Dublin. This role extends beyond routine VAT compliance, offering broad scope, visibility, and significant influence.

The VAT compliance functions, such as VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat filings across multiple countries, are being outsourced. Our internal team will focus on review, oversight, governance, and final approval. Hence, this position emphasizes strategic partnership with business units, stakeholder management, VAT advisory matters, audit leadership, and proactive risk and control management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage outsourced VAT compliance activities across several European countries, concentrating on risk-based reviews and governance rather than manual preparation.
  • Serve as a principal VAT consultant, delivering practical advice on VAT implications related to business operations, contracts, projects, and international transactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external advisors, and tax authorities throughout Europe.
  • Lead and support VAT audit responses and manage any related disputes involving tax authorities or internal audit.
  • Oversee risk identification, monitoring, mitigation, and maintain proper control documentation and audit trails.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements, enhance governance, and identify opportunities for VAT savings and optimization.
  • Lead and mentor team members, supporting the evolution of the tax team's role towards oversight, advisory, and continuous improvement in a modern tax operating model.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven expertise in European VAT and indirect tax gained from industry or professional practice.
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, CTA, or an equivalent certification.
  • Experience handling VAT advisory issues and managing audit processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing personnel.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic and proactive stance on risk management, controls, and continuous enhancements.
  • Experience working within complex, multi-jurisdictional tax environments.

What Sets This Role Apart

This position is not centered on the detailed preparation or line-by-line review of VAT returns. Instead, it offers a leadership opportunity within an evolving tax model that prioritizes stakeholder interaction, governance, advisory services, audit readiness, risk oversight, and value creation.

Accessibility Commitment

We are dedicated to an accessible and inclusive recruitment process. Candidates needing accommodations at any application or hiring stage are encouraged to seek support from the recruitment team.

Total Rewards and Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranges benchmarked against the industry and aligned with internal fairness standards.
  • Performance-linked incentives based on transparent, objective criteria considering both individual and company achievements.
  • Inclusive benefits accessible to all employees focusing on financial, health, and wellness pillars.
  • Opportunities for continuous development, including education support and clear career progression pathways.
  • Employee recognition initiatives that honor significant accomplishments and milestones.

We regularly update our compensation and benefits to align with market trends and employee needs. Detailed compensation information will be shared during the application process.
