Vascular Technologist

Job Overview

A Vascular Technologist is responsible for conducting non-invasive vascular ultrasound procedures along with blood pressure assessments to aid in the diagnosis of peripheral vascular and other vascular diseases.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to departmental vascular training programs to develop competence in performing diagnostic vascular ultrasounds and non-invasive vascular studies.
• Produce detailed written and illustrative reports based on diagnostic findings.
• Carry out vascular examinations in strict accordance with protocols for ultrasound and other non-invasive tests.
• Complete all training assignments under the guidance of a senior vascular technologist.
• Perform non-invasive vascular testing under supervision by senior technologists and vascular physicians.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding procedures and results.
• Fulfill all responsibilities delegated by senior vascular technologists.
• Collaborate with senior staff to ensure departmental operations, planning, and administration run smoothly.
• Support and participate in department-led research projects.
• Ensure efficient daily department operations.
• Maintain all vascular diagnostic equipment, ensuring full functionality.
• Work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team for diagnosis and management of arterial and venous conditions.
• Effectively manage scheduling for scans and report compilation.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors or department heads.

Qualifications

• Possess a degree or diploma in a healthcare-related field; preference given to candidates with experience as Vascular Technologists or medical sonographers.
• Registered nurses with 2 to 3 years of nursing experience are preferred.
