About the Role

We are seeking a motivated UX Researcher III to join our Toronto office, with an expected commitment of two days per week onsite, potentially increasing to three days. This role is integral to our Design department, where UX research drives product innovation by delivering human-centered insights that shape strategy and inform business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive mixed-methods user research to guide product improvements and design superior customer experiences.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Design, Business, Product, Marketing, and Engineering to influence UX strategy by centering user perspectives in product planning.
  • Create compelling narratives to effectively share research findings and ensure alignment and actionable outcomes across stakeholders.
  • Support development of key features and initiatives aligned with company goals through research insights.
  • Efficiently plan and prioritize research activities in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Track the impact of research insights and contribute actively to the growth of eBay's UX Research practice.

Qualifications

  • Possess 2 to 4+ years of hands-on experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods applied throughout product development cycles, from concept to launch.
  • Hold an advanced degree (M.A., M.S., or PhD) in disciplines related to human behavior such as Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Media Studies, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrate expertise in diverse research methodologies, effectively influencing design and product decisions to benefit both users and business objectives.
  • Capable of dissecting and navigating complex, ambiguous challenges to provide clear, actionable insights in teamwork settings.
  • Exhibit strong communication and storytelling abilities, persuasive influence, and advocacy for user research.
  • Preferably experienced in large organizational environments with cross-functional collaboration; global research experience is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is C$110,400 to C$147,400, with the final offer reflecting individual factors such as location, skills, and experience. The total remuneration package may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, and comprehensive benefits encompassing medical plans, retirement savings (RRSP eligibility), paid time off including parental leave, among others.
