Overview
USIC is a nationally recognized leader in underground utility damage prevention and advanced infrastructure services, performing over 84 million locate requests annually across a range of utilities including telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer systems. Primary Responsibilities
- Efficiently and safely identify and mark underground utilities such as telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer networks.
- Conduct thorough searches within assigned areas, accurately documenting and photographing each locate.
Work Conditions
This is a full-time daytime position with a 48-hour turnaround requirement for many locates, which necessitates working after holidays, some weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts, including nights and weekends, based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions; prior outdoor experience is advantageous.
- Comfortable using technology and able to operate company-provided advanced equipment.
- Available for overtime, weekend, and on-call shifts as necessary.
- Pass drug screening due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical capacity to work in confined spaces, walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors used to mark and identify underground wiring and utilities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and use locate tickets, maps, and technical prints.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
