About ELM Utility Services
ELM Utility Services, a nationwide employer with over 1900 team members, is recruiting a Utility Locate Technician based in Red Oak, Texas. Our technicians play a vital role within their communities by ensuring gas, electric, and communication utilities remain reliable and secure. Utilizing cutting-edge LaunchPoint software, they accurately mark underground utilities to prevent damage during excavation activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- The starting pay ranges from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on candidate experience.
- Employees receive a company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone to take home daily, enabling direct travel from home to job sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate independently outdoors using a company-assigned vehicle as a mobile office to complete daily locate requests.
- Precisely, safely, and efficiently identify and mark underground utilities using paint, flags, and marking whiskers.
- Manage daily assignments via a mobile work system.
- Participate in on-call rotations and work overtime as necessary, potentially including night and weekend shifts.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must successfully clear pre-employment testing, including drug screening, motor vehicle record, and background checks.
- Position is safety-sensitive under Department of Transportation regulations; marijuana use (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
