Job Overview

As a Utility Locate Technician based in Federal Way, Washington, you will play a key role in preventing damage to underground utility infrastructure by precisely locating and marking utilities before excavation activities. This position offers a starting pay range of $25.50 to $32.00 per hour, depending on your experience. The role involves using advanced software and technology to complete daily tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent fieldwork daily, using a company-provided vehicle as a mobile office to complete assigned utility locate routes
• Locate and mark underground utilities accurately, safely, and efficiently with paint, flags, and whiskers
• Utilize mobile technology to receive and manage daily assignments
• Participate in on-call rotations and be available for overtime, including night and weekend shifts as required

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, Motor Vehicle Record review, and background check; position is safety-sensitive and must comply with Federal Department of Transportation regulations including marijuana prohibition
• Hold a High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Have valid passport or enhanced driver's license to enable occasional work-related travel across the Canadian border
