Underground Loader Operator

Overview

Harmony Australasia is looking for a dedicated Underground Loader Operator to join our mining operations in Cobar, New South Wales. This role involves operating underground loaders to transport ore and waste materials, contributing to efficient and safe mining activities. The role operates on a 7-day on/7-day off rotational shift pattern with options for residential or DIDO arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating underground loaders effectively and safely within the mine.
• Managing the underground trucking fleet to ensure full utilization.
• Maximizing truck loads to enhance operational efficiency.
• Performing roadwork maintenance and maintaining housekeeping standards underground.
• Loading and hauling ore and waste securely and efficiently.
• Strictly adhering to tele-remote operation procedures.
• Maintaining tram and loading packages as required.
• Conducting pre-start equipment inspections and routine checks.
• Ensuring compliance with site safety protocols and production objectives.
• Collaborating closely with underground teams and supervisors.
• Identifying hazards proactively and supporting a robust safety culture.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in underground mining operations, specifically driving loaders is essential.
• Experience with tele-remote machinery operations.
• Valid driver's license and capability to navigate confined tunnel environments safely.
• Proven skills in efficient bucket control and precise loading techniques.
• Ability to drive in various ground conditions while observing and reporting hazards.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Commitment to maintaining safety standards and following mining procedures thoroughly.
• Excellent organizational abilities to set and achieve daily production targets.
