Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and driven Treasury Associate to aid the Group Banking & Treasury team with daily treasury, payment processing, and reconciliation tasks. The role involves ensuring bank data accuracy, resolving payment issues, coordinating bank KYC and RFI requests, and safeguarding the reconciliation process. The ideal candidate will be organized, proficient with multiple banking platforms and internal software, and capable of managing routine operations with precision under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily reconciliations of all group bank accounts across various countries to detect and address discrepancies between bank statements and internal ledger/ERP records.
- Download regular bank statements from different online banking platforms associated with multiple banks and entities.
- Update ERP systems such as Wafeq or NetSuite, along with internal tracking records, ensuring timely, accurate, and uniformly formatted data entries.
- Manage monthly clearance of suspense account balances with full substantiation.
- Address payment-related inquiries from both internal teams and external parties by verifying payment statuses within banking systems and ERP.
- Provide Proof of Payment documents promptly and accurately upon request.
- Oversee manual collection updates, support inter-account transfers, prefunding processes, and intra-group fund movements between operational and settlement accounts.
- Collaborate with accounts payable, customer experience teams, and banks to resolve transaction issues and operational discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary contact for banking partners regarding payment-related KYC and RFI queries and ensure timely documentation submission and closure.
- Maintain an orderly archive of bank statements and supporting documents to support audits and reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and contribute during internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure adherence to banking regulations including cross-border fund flow compliance.
- Contribute to the preparation and upkeep of standard operating procedures and aid continuous process improvement and automation initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of practical experience in financial or treasury operational roles.
- Proficient knowledge of bank reconciliation processes, cash flow management, and payment operations.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with office productivity tools.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting software, particularly Wafeq and/or NetSuite preferred.
- Comfortable managing multiple banking portals and internal systems concurrently.
- Strong analytical skills and capacity to handle large datasets with precision.
