About the Role
Core-Mark International is seeking a full-time Traveling Merchandiser to join their team based in Calgary, Alberta. This role supports critical activities within North America's food distribution network and offers a safe, inclusive environment with a culture valuing rewards and respect.
Job Details
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, typically 8 AM to 5 PM, with some variation as business needs dictate.
- Your responsibilities will require daily travel within your designated territory serving customer retail locations.
- Base salary ranges from $47,000 to $52,000 annually, supplemented with a monthly car allowance, a gas card, and phone reimbursement.
Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sales Account Manager, you will manage execution and maintenance of the SmartStock Programs. Key duties encompass:
- Following a detailed call routine as outlined by the Sales Account Manager and maintaining weekly communication for updated execution guidance.
- Performing merchandising tasks including tote to rack merchandising, assembling display racks, executing plan-o-grams, rotating products, and other merchandising services.
- Minimizing out-of-stock situations on shelves and ensuring product freshness and compliance with date code standards.
- Addressing customer inquiries in a timely fashion, adhering to marketing standards and in-store compliance.
- Identifying and optimizing display opportunities, ensuring correct pricing, product identification, and proper presentation.
- Providing solutions to customer challenges as needed and carrying out additional assigned responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle including proper insurance; snow tires may be necessary.
- Ability to drive to customer locations using personal transportation (gas card provided).
- Competency in communicating effectively and understanding store plan-o-gram and procedural instructions.
- Capability to operate hand-held inventory control devices, calculators, and computers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook.
