Overview
The Travel Consultant serves as a pivotal link between customers and their travel needs, guiding them through travel options that best fit their preferences and budget while efficiently handling ticketing processes. The role aims to foster customer loyalty and meet sales targets through exceptional service and advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients by providing detailed information on travel possibilities, recommending the most fitting routes and airlines that align with their budget and requirements, and ensuring timely ticket issuance to facilitate informed travel decisions.
- Present clients with cost-saving proposals, including travel alternatives and associated services like airport pickups and hotel stays, to minimize additional expenses.
- Adhere strictly to administrative protocols regarding ticketing and secure collection of payments via cash or cheque to prevent accounting discrepancies and maintain financial transparency.
- Keep an updated database of regular customers capturing details such as past bookings, frequent flyer numbers, and preferences on meals and seating to deliver personalized services that encourage repeat business.
- Collect and analyze post-travel customer feedback to assess service quality and identify areas for enhancement.
- Engage with clients with overdue payments to ensure prompt collection, aiding the company's fiscal goals.
- Stay informed about the latest travel industry updates, regulations, and product developments to provide accurate, knowledgeable advice tailored to customer needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the travel sector is essential.
- Educational attainment equivalent to Intermediate or "A" Levels.
- Proficiency in Amadeus Global Distribution System (GDS) is mandatory.
- Possessing IATA certification is advantageous.
