Job description
Overview
This position supports the GPMS Prepositioning Program by assisting in the receipt, inspection, storage, handling, maintenance, reconstitution, accountability, and shipment of Tanks, Racks, Adapters, and Pylons (TRAP). The role requires strict adherence to the Performance Work Statement and compliance with security standards during maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently follow security protocols in both assigned locations and temporary duty assignments.
- Respond effectively to emergencies to stabilize situations as needed.
- Operate a variety of testing, handling, and towing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Execute inventory control procedures to accurately account for all resources.
- Complete maintenance tasks according to established technical and quality guidelines.
- Maintain all assigned equipment, ensuring serviceability and applying corrosion control in line with USAF technical data.
- Maintain and repair fuel tank containers and all equipment housed within.
- Fabricate and repair TRAP containers following military specifications.
- Utilize technical documents and manuals compliant with T.O.00-5-2 and 00-20 Series standards.
- Prepare and configure TRAP units for transportation via air, sea, or surface modes.
- Submit accurate and timely serviceability reports and records.
- Manage storage of tools, replacement parts, and operational stock.
- Inspect and conduct minor maintenance on facilities and related equipment.
- Maintain vehicles, tools, equipment, and facilities to required standards.
- Ensure all GPMS TRAP assets are operational and meet standards upon completion of assignments.
- Clean vehicles, equipment, and facilities regularly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Hold proper authorization to work in the host country.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- Minimum two years of experience operating a variety of test equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and technical data with zero errors.
- Basic arithmetic skills for calculations related to the role.
- Capability to operate material handling equipment as needed.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license from the home country and ability to obtain a host nation license.
- Preferred candidates will have a valid work and residency permit for Germany or be an EU/EEA national.
- Formal training in electronics and some mechanical experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking.
- Authorization to work legally in the host country is required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily conducted in a maintenance shop or warehouse setting with potential for extended outdoor activities.
- Exposure to high noise levels from equipment operation is possible.
- Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per task requirements.
- Physical ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs and perform extensive manual handling of equipment.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is between 50,557 and 61,791 euros annually.
