Role Overview
As a Transportation Route Planner, you will play a pivotal role in building efficient and cost-effective delivery routes that fulfill customer requirements while collaborating closely with Sales and Warehouse teams. Utilizing specialized software, you will optimize route sequencing, balance trailer loads according to product dimensions and weight, and maintain routing system parameters.
Schedule and Compensation
This position operates Sunday through Thursday, from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm. The hourly wage starts at $23, with compensation influenced by your experience, education, and location, ranging between $17.38 and $28.83 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and sequence transportation routes using software tools such as RoadNet and Mainframe.
- Match customer orders to appropriate truck loads ensuring load balance by size and weight.
- Engage with Sales and Warehouse departments to assess delivery feasibility and coordinate efforts.
- Generate and submit various daily reports, including route changes, sequence modifications, and new customer requests.
- Maintain and adjust routing software system settings to support efficient operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a related field is necessary.
- Proficiency in English communication related to job duties and safety standards.
- Competency in computer operations including data entry, report generation, spreadsheet creation, and data manipulation.
- Basic math abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Capacity to independently resolve a variety of non-routine issues.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, including possible overtime.
