As a Transport Allocator, you will be the pivotal point in ensuring smooth daily transport operations despite inevitable changes and challenges. Your role involves managing driver schedules, allocating daily tasks, and adapting routes dynamically while keeping all stakeholders — drivers, customers, and warehouse teams — well-informed.
Key Responsibilities
- Create daily transport schedules detailing driver allocations.
- Modify routes promptly to meet shifting demands and priorities.
- Monitor operations continuously and address delays or disruptions swiftly.
- Engage and coordinate with drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel to maintain communication flow.
- Notify customers proactively about any alterations in transport plans.
- Handle administrative duties related to transport, including reporting and documentation.
- Utilize Transport Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and scheduling software to maintain operational oversight.
- Plan with strict adherence to Chain of Responsibility, driver fatigue regulations, and safety protocols.
- Identify inefficiencies within processes and propose improvements for enhanced workflow.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Between three to five years of hands-on experience in transport allocation, dispatch, or logistics coordination.
- Proficiency in route planning, critical problem-solving, and confident decision-making within a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communicator able to interface clearly with drivers, clients, and internal teams alike.
- Experience with TMS, GPS tools, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Chain of Responsibility and driver fatigue management.
- Highly organized, flexible, and able to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive individual who takes accountability and ensures follow-through on responsibilities.
Additional valued experience includes working knowledge of BFM, HACCP standards, or temperature-controlled transport operations.

Additional Information
Location is Yatala, Queensland. This position requires 38 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend duties. This is a permanent, full-time role.
