Opportunity Overview
Join Hitachi Energy, a leading global company specializing in transformer technology and innovation. This role involves contributing to the repair and refurbishment of power transformers utilized in renewable energy and ultra-high voltage sectors. The position offers a dynamic work environment with a rotating shift pattern, allowing you to develop your technical expertise while collaborating with skilled professionals to help advance the energy industry.
Shift Schedule
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
- Shifts alternate every two weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required documentation related to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Quality, and Operational procedures
- Inspect, disassemble, and reassemble transformer units following technical drawings and reference materials
- Perform mechanical and electrical tasks such as brazing, crimping, and bolting
- Prepare components for drying processes and manage oven operations
- Conduct final inspections and re-tank transformers
- Assemble units in preparation for final testing and shipment
- Operate cranes and forklifts safely to transport transformer components
- Ensure all repairs meet industry standards and comply with internal and external regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Candidate Profile
- Possess a college certificate in a technical field or a Grade 12 diploma
- Have at least 10 years of experience in transformer repair or working with industrial electrical equipment
- Strong understanding of transformer parts, insulation systems, and winding techniques
- Valid certification or demonstrated experience in operating cranes and forklifts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Must have valid authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada
