Role Overview

We are seeking a Transfer Station Attendant to manage the Hudson's Hope domestic garbage transfer facility. This individual will provide excellent customer service, maintain site operations, and ensure safety and efficiency at the transfer station.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive public relations at all times.
• Open and close station access gates adhering to operational hours, securing gates outside of those times.
• Regularly inspect perimeter fencing for unauthorized entry or damages.
• Remove unauthorized waste materials from entrances and other areas, including materials dumped outside operating hours.
• Manage traffic flow within the transfer station to ensure safety and conformity to traffic management plans.
• Oversee proper placement of waste into containers and compactors.
• Identify and remove non-compliant materials from deposited waste loads.
• Prevent scavenging activities by facility users.
• Keep all site buildings and yard areas clean, including removing stray waste and litter, snow shoveling, and sweeping around premises.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1 to 2 years of general labor experience.
• Ability to accurately complete daily documentation.
• Good knowledge of regional Occupational Health and Safety standards and safe operation of mobile equipment.
• Strong commitment to work ethic, capable of enduring tough weather and challenging site conditions.

Work Schedule

The position requires working from Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM.
