About the Role
Calusade Hotels is seeking an experienced and passionate Training & Development Manager to join our Group People & Culture team. Our mission is to foster exceptional hospitality by supporting and nurturing our colleagues' growth, confidence, and career development. Reporting to the Group Head of People & Culture, you will be instrumental in shaping and leading the learning and development strategy across our hotel group.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and grow the Calusade Training Academy.
- Lead the two-day Calusade Great Start orientation program.
- Design and deliver a structured Management Development Programme.
- Develop Trainee and Graduate Management Programmes.
- Build the Service Academy and set operational learning standards.
- Support leadership development, talent reviews, succession planning, and career progression pathways.
- Translate hotel SOPs and service standards into engaging, practical training initiatives.
- Manage the mandatory learning framework and assist with Health & Safety training across the group.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with colleges, universities, hospitality schools, apprenticeship providers, and professional bodies.
- Develop internships, placements, apprenticeships, and graduate opportunities.
- Champion internal talent identification and leadership development.
Candidate Profile
- A passion for people development coupled with a strong understanding of operational excellence in hospitality or similar multi-site service environments.
- Proven Learning & Development or People Development experience, ideally within hotels or hospitality.
- Skilled in designing and delivering engaging training programmes for various levels including colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
- Competent facilitation, coaching, and presentation abilities.
- Experience in leadership and management development.
- Knowledge of competency-based learning, service standards, and operational training methodologies.
- Confident working with senior leadership teams and frontline staff alike.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with educational institutions and external learning partners is highly desirable.
- Qualifications such as CIPD and Level 9 in Learning & Development, HR, or People Development, or equivalent credentials are preferred.
- Additional certifications like Train-the-Trainer, ILM, or recognized leadership qualifications are advantageous.
Working Environment
This role requires working across multiple Calusade Hotels locations with regular travel to group properties.
