Job description

Overview

The Training Cell Team Leader, reporting directly to the Forward Maintenance Manager, is responsible for designing and continuously updating the tools used to identify training needs and document completed training activities. This position collaborates closely with maintenance staff and management across all levels to effectively use various media and training channels, ensuring compliance and competency in maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revise and update training materials to accommodate system changes, recent developments, and new requirements under guidance from the Maintenance Training Team Lead.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Trainer to confirm training content aligns with configuration and prescribed standards.
  • Create and oversee training schedules and delivery plans as directed by the Maintenance Training Team Lead.
  • Assist in the development of tailored or new training programs, whether internally created or outsourced, in partnership with the Maintenance Training Lead.
  • Conduct Induction Training for new employees following the designed induction plan and deliver additional training such as Continuation training, Manual Handling, and Working at Height as needed.
  • Provide Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) briefings alongside the on-site SHE coordinator.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records that demonstrate maintenance personnel's competency and currency, supporting compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external agencies to organize training sessions and refresher courses.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from training participants to identify trends and adjust training programs accordingly.
  • Deliver Integrated Management System (IMS) training when required.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure training delivery and documentation enable employees to develop necessary skills and demonstrate proficiency in maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain adherence to applicable regulatory frameworks, company procedures, and standards, contributing to continuous process improvement and implementation of changes as necessary.
  • Apply knowledge of human factors, error and risk management, and safety assurance within the Safety Management System.
  • Manage and implement the Continuing Airworthiness Assurance processes, supporting audits, addressing findings promptly, and contributing to relevant reviews.
  • Possess detailed understanding and application of continuing airworthiness regulatory requirements, such as EASA, and ensure updates are implemented; comply with additional regulations like ITAR/EaPW.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with contractual obligations, assist contract review processes, and communicate changes affecting airworthiness records activities.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • General knowledge and competence of Typhoon aircraft within the candidate's technical area, plus awareness of related trades and how the team’s work integrates with others.
  • Completion of Typhoon Trade ‘Q’ Course.
  • Engineering qualification equivalent to HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Foundation-level leadership training.
  • Familiarity with Human Factors principles.
  • Awareness of E&PW and ITAR regulations.
  • Fire safety training.
  • Possession of a valid UK driving license.
