About the Role
We seek an enthusiastic and people-oriented Trainer to join our Finegand Operations team. This position focuses on delivering effective and efficient departmental training that empowers our staff to work safely, confidently, and up to the exceptional standards established by Silver Fern Farms.
The role involves close cooperation with the training team, supervisors, recruitment personnel, supportive departments, and new hires to tailor training that aligns with operational needs and industry benchmarks while promoting individual and team achievement.
This is a unique chance to significantly influence workforce development and contribute to our mission: Creating Goodness from the Farms the World Needs.
Shift Pattern: The standard working hours are day shifts, typically between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, but during November through July, shifts may change to night hours from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide team members to cultivate a motivating training environment.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to enhance employee skills and job performance.
- Collaborate with various teams to maintain uniform support throughout the business.
- Oversee training tasks ensuring completion following established standards.
- Promote health, safety, and wellbeing among trainees.
- Organize and conduct training sessions based on business objectives and industry standards.
- Evaluate employee competencies covering Induction, Meat Processing, and site-specific guidelines.
- Keep precise training documentation and ensure refresher courses are timely.
- Support onboarding new hires by tracking progress and addressing training gaps.
- Work with buddy trainers to guarantee consistent and quality learning development.
- Detect suboptimal techniques and provide coaching to improve performance supporting both staff and supervisors.
- Coordinate with recruitment and supervisors to plan new employee intake and placement.
- Manage provisioning of PPE, locker assignments, and deliver Our Technique inductions.
- Host site and departmental tours to orient newcomers with key team members.
About You
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish trust-based relationships.
- A lively and positive demeanor paired with strong attention to detail.
- Experience or genuine enthusiasm for training in a production environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital training platforms.
- Commercially aware with an organized and proactive work ethic.
- Willingness or commitment to attain Adult Education & Training Level 4 certification.
