Division Focus
The Gases division leads the global brokerage in LPG, Ammonia, Petrochemical Gases, and LNG, with a forward-looking commitment to emerging areas such as CO₂ marine transport and green ammonia development.
Role Overview
We invite applications for the position of Junior Shipbroker within our LNG desk. This role involves partnering with seasoned brokers in executing multifaceted duties in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will bring previous exposure to LNG or gaseous commodities, strong communication skills, and a motivated, proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Chartering LNG tanker vessels across LNGC, FSRU, and small-scale market niches.
- Delivering market intelligence and detailed reports to clients, including vessel owners and charterers.
- Compiling daily market analysis and vessel position summaries.
- Extending and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders in the Far East and broader LNG sectors.
- Collaborating with Clarksons’ global offices to maximize business potential consistently.
- Developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities within the LNG market.
- Drafting charter party agreements and completing essential fixture documentation as needed.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of shipbroking experience, preferably with an international brokerage firm.
- University degree from a distinguished institution is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience specifically in shipbroking is beneficial; familiarity with gas broking is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to cultivate strong client relationships and work effectively under pressure with adaptability.
- A positive, outgoing demeanor with confidence and excellent teamwork aptitude.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English for effective client engagement.
- Competent with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
