Job description
Role Overview
This position as a Train Cleaner entails ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene standards inside trains, which is essential for creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for both passengers and staff. The role focuses on maintaining trains' appearance to positively influence customer experience.
Working Hours
Shift begins at 21:00 and ends at 05:00.
Primary Duties
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to keep the train interiors neat.
- Identify and report any damage, graffiti, or vandalism promptly to the relevant authorities for timely action.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and restock them as required to ensure availability for daily operations.
- Observe all safety guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Handle and dispose of cleaning chemicals and materials according to set safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have legal authorization to work in the UK.
- Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Readiness to work night and weekend shifts is required.
Additional Information
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol testing.
- A Depot Track Safety (DTS) training course must be completed.
- Free travel to and from work is offered via SWR trains.
