Role Overview
The role of Traffic Management Planner is a full-time, on-site position located in Auckland. Responsibilities include developing traffic management plans for civil construction and roadworks projects that comply with all relevant standards, regulations, and local authority requirements. The role entails assessing project locations, analyzing traffic patterns, identifying safety hazards, and crafting layouts that reduce disruption for motorists, pedestrians, and local businesses.
The planner liaises regularly with project managers, site supervisors, and external stakeholders, submitting plans for approvals and making any necessary revisions. Additional duties include overseeing traffic management effectiveness during construction, updating plans in response to changing conditions, and maintaining thorough records for audits and reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proficient knowledge and experience in transportation planning and mobility management.
- Competency in traffic management, including the design and evaluation of traffic management plans.
- Background in planning and urban planning specifically related to infrastructure and transport projects.
- Possession of relevant traffic management certifications or accreditations, such as local authority or national traffic control qualifications, is advantageous.
- Prior work experience in civil construction or roadworks, emphasizing safety and compliance with regulations.
- Strong analytical capabilities and keen attention to detail, with an ability to interpret technical drawings and standards accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with site personnel, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Capability to operate on-site in Auckland, manage multiple projects concurrently, and work efficiently under fast-paced conditions to meet deadlines.
